DongFeng's New Captain Light Truck Series Hits Malaysian Roads

DongFeng Commercial Vehicle (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd recently introduced the Captain Series, Dongfeng’s light-duty truck lineup, to the Malaysian market.

Drawing inspiration from the commanding role of a sea captain, Benjamin Kek, General Manager of DongFeng Commercial Vehicle Malaysia, said these trucks embodied a sense of professionalism and unwavering commitment.

“The two variants making their debut in Malaysia are the DongFeng Captain-E and Captain-C series. The former is a four-wheeler light-duty truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 5,280kg. Powered by an Isuzu JE493ZLQ4, a Euro 4 compliant 2.8-litre common-rail, turbocharged, and intercooled diesel engine generating 108PS at 3,400rpm and 260Nm at 2,000rpm, it is mated to a WanLiYang (WLY) five-speed manual transmission, known for its lightweight design, efficient ratios, and smooth shifting to optimize performance and fuel efficiency.
